FAQ

Is this 100 watt solar panel suitable for extended backpacking or hiking? >

To ensure excellent charging performance and outstanding conversion efficiency, we use high-quality, full-capacity A+ grade monocrystalline silicon cells, which bring the weight of this solar panel to 9.48 lbs. As a result, it might not be suitable for extended backpacking or hiking trips, but it is ideal for camping, RV travel, and emergency power backup.

What should I do if I receive this solar panel and find that it is not compatible with my portable power station? >

First, please carefully confirm before placing an order whether your portable power station's solar input port is compatible with any of the adapters we provide (XT-60, Anderson, DC7909, DC5521, DC8020). If you're unsure, feel free to consult with us beforehand. Additionally, if you receive the solar panel and find it incompatible with your portable power station, please let us know—we’ll help resolve the issue for you.

Why is the actual power output of my 100 watt solar panel portable is lower than 100W in practical use? >

The actual output power of a 100W solar panel is typically lower than its rated power due to several factors:

Solar Irradiance: Rated power is measured under Standard Test Conditions (STC), which assume optimal conditions: 1000W/m² of sunlight, a panel temperature of 25°C, and direct sunlight. In real conditions, sunlight intensity is often lower due to cloud cover, time of day, or geographical factors, leading to reduced output.

Temperature: Solar panels lose efficiency as their temperature rises. High temperatures cause a decrease in output power, as most panels have a negative temperature coefficient, meaning their output decreases as the temperature increases.

Angle and Orientation: If the solar panel is not positioned to directly face the sun or at the optimal angle, it will receive less sunlight, resulting in lower output.

Panel Aging: Over time, solar panels degrade, and their efficiency decreases.

Shading: Even partial shading (from trees, buildings, etc.) can significantly reduce a panel's output, as it affects the entire panel's performance.

Excellent product!

I am amazed getting as high as 96 watts on a Jackery 300.

Out performs Jackery. (At least my Jackery panel)

Just received today. Plugged it to my Jackey 300 and instantly sent 72 watts for charge. My 2 year old Jackery 100 watt panel could only average 12-24 watts, and for double the price. I'm hoping my panel was bad, and not the norm for Jackery. I'm gonna buy the 200 watt panel to charge my on board 100ah battery. Totally satisfied.

Excellent 100W solar panel for the price

I wanted a solar panel that I could connect to my new Goal Zero Sherpa 100AC power bank, to use mainly for emergencies when the power was out for any significant amount of time. I found this Zoupw foldable 100W solar panel, saw that it was highly rated and highly ranked and decided to pick it up and now I am very glad I did. I decided to get a solar panel with more power than the Sherpa 100AC needed (60W) and it looks like that was a home run on my part. Because if the solar panel is not generating full power because I don't have it pointing perfectly at the sun, or there's some light clouds or slight haze in the atmosphere, it is most likely going to still output enough power to keep the power bank charging at its max capacity of 60 watts, or close to it.It plugs right into the 8mm solar-in port on the back of the Sherpa 100AC and it's good to go. I was able to easily get the max 60W in from the panel that the Sherpa can handle and it's not even summer yet so they're both working together exactly as I had hoped. The panel is well constructed, with magnetic handles to keep the unit folded when not in use. The included 10 foot cable is plenty long enough and they certainly give you enough connectors and tips to connect to just about any power bank or device you are trying to charge. It has two USB-A ports and one USB-C port that can output up to a decent 60w so if the panel was outputting full power (which is most likely around 90w, not 100) I could charge my iPhone at full speed while simultaneously charging the Sherpa at its full speed. Just another reason why I went with a solar panel with a little more power than I needed just for the Sherpa alone. This solar panel is less than half the price of Goal Zero's comparable 100W solar panel and now that I see how well constructed it is and it works as expected, picking up this solar panel was a no-brainer.

Talk about efficiency!

Purchased two of these panels. Tried one panel out during mid day sun here in Texas on 1/13/25 and charging at 97%

Pairs Well with Anker 521 Power Station

Nice panel with good packaging and everything needed to connect DC to and recharge my Anker 521 power station. Getting 55-60w in Asheville, NC, full sun in late October at noon off my balcony rail. The panel is light, and folding in half very easy to put up and take down and tuck into a closet. Also a great value at the current price. New so I can't comment to durability, etc., but out of the box I think it's perfect.

Very nice 100w portable solar panel

I needed something to work with my Jackery Explorer Pro 2000 without breaking the bank. This 100w works and gives me 71w without adjusting mid day

Very satisfied so far...

I like it so far. Feels relatively sturdy. Kickstands aren't very adjustable, but perfectly acceptable. Easy to carry, lightweight, good magnetic clasps. Pulling an average of 80watts. All good!

Works really well!

Don't expect a full 100 watts. That is not uncommon on nearly all solar panels. I'm giving five stars because what it does give you is fantastic, portable, comes with much of what you need in regards to cables and connectors. No regrets on purchase and would purchase another. I parallel this with my stationary 100 watt panel and if we are talking perfect sun and atmosphere I can consistently get 50 to 70 watts from this. Picture shows input from this panel.

Excellent value and product

I tested this panel on the patio of my apartment in the afternoon sun for a few hours. It was producing nearly one hundred watts, and I was impressed. I will be buying another one of these panels soon. The panel is apparently well made and ruggedly stitched together. I will be using this with small Bluetti solar battery generators. For me, it is a very cost-effective unit. The connection cable and adapters that come with are fantastic. This set of adapters and cable allow you to connect this solar panel to a wide variety of solar generators from various manufacturers. This connection cable is ten feet long. The only shortcoming of the connection cable is that the Anderson connector is rigidly set on a side-by-side configuration. It seems that half of the companies that use the Anderson connector use an upper lower configuration rather than side by side.

100W true portable solar panel with many types of connections

This is a true portable 100W solar panel. It weights about 10.22 lbs, folded measures about 21" x 24 1/4" and open its about 21" x 48 1/2". It uses MC4 connectors from the panel which connects to the included 10" multi connection extension cable. The four connections on the extension cord are XT60, Anderson, DC5521 and DC7909. They also include 10 cannon plugs of various sizes. This allows you to connect this solar panel to a wide variety of power stations. It also had two USB-A ports: a black one with output of 5V@3A and an orange one with output of 12V@1.5A, plus has a USB-C with 20V@3A; all of which allow you to charge phone, tables and a wide range of USB devices. Testing showed an output of 19.81V at 73.2W (captured in the pic). The largest observed was 77W.I like everything about this solar panel, especially everything I described above. It is the perfect portable solar panel for camping, boating and emergency power outages.Update 3/11/2024 - today is a clear sunny day and retested the output of this solar panel at just over 86W.

Nice style solar panel with just 2 panels, easy setup

This is a typical design which I prefer for a 100 watt panel. It consists of just 2 panels and 2 legs which makes setup and takedown a breeze. I see a lot of 4 panel, 100 watt systems that are more difficult to angle and setup correctly. I also like the magnetic handle and wish that they did that for the legs too. But these legs are held on by Velcro, making setup a little harder. The dimensions are 21?x 24?x 1.5?closed and 21?x 48.5?x 1?opened. The panel weighs 9 pounds on my scale.I am not an engineer or an electrician, I am just a typical consumer.Pros:?Two panel design, make for easy setup and teardown?Magnetic handle?Good sized and quality legs?Has a built-in pouch for storage?Lots of adaptors making it easy to connect to most systems?Well priced at $160Neutrals:?Expected wattage output at 82 watts on a hazy day?Velcro legs instead of magnetic (someday all panels will use magnets I predict, lol)Cons:?The parameters are not printed on the solar panelIn the box:?Solar panel with MC4 connector?Extra adaptor with MC4 to Anderson, DC7909 (8mm), DC5521 (5mm) and XT60 connectors?10 extra connectors of varying sizes?ManualMy only gripe with this panel is that they did not list the parameters (specifications) on the panel itself. This is necessary so you know instantly if you can safely use the panel on a certain device, such as a power station. You need to know this as to not possibly damage the station with too many volts. But they do list it in the manual and they give you a pouch so just keep the manual with the panel at all times. I guess another gripe is I wish that they used magnets instead of Velcro for the legs, but most manufactures are still using Velcro for some reason. Magnets make for a much easier setup and take down procedure.Item came well packaged in a double box and was undamaged. Sorry but even though I list the photos a certain order, they tend to show up in a random order. I will keep this review up to date if any new issues arise as time passes.

The Best Built 100W Foldable Panel I have Reviewed

This review is for the ZOUPW 100 Watt Portable Foldable Monocrystalline Solar Panel:What is Included?A 100 Watt foldable panel with built in kickstands. These kickstands keep the panel at the proper angle to the sun while set up on the ground or a table. Also included is an adaptor cable that has MC4 on one end that connects to the solar panel. The other end has an assortment of Solar Generator fittings and if that was not enough, there is the barrel adapter kit too. You should not have any reason for this product not to fit your generator. Now for the controller outputs: An MC4 output that is not removable. A USB-C , a USB-A 1.5A and a USB-A 3A. All of which boasts decent specs. The charging cable is nearly ten feet long. This allows you to keep your solar generator out of the sun and in the shade.Build Quality:The build quality is impeccable. The panels themselves are excellent monocrystalline and secured firmly to a hard support. I deal with a lot of panels and I have to say this is the absolute best I have ever run across. The handles are molded and secured with screws. The handles also have built in strong magnets to hold the folded panels firmly closed when not in use. There are four grommets to allow for hanging the panel up as another choice. The two attached kickstands are strong enough to hold the panel upright without sagging or falling down. When not in use they close securely and are held in place with Velcro. The stitching and double zipper pouch adds to the quality and great looks. The description mentions IP67 Waterproof. While certainly the panel is waterproof, the controller that is attached to the backside of the panel is not. So keep this in mind while using while camping.Actual Usage:I set up the panel on a cloudless day, just the gorgeous sun and Alabama blue sky overhead. I had purposely run my 300 watt solar generator as low as I could to test this out. So I plugged it into my generator and immediately saw incoming 60 watts. For a moment I went duh! and then realized that this was hitting the charging limit of my generator. So I am very pleased to the performance of this panel. I have a100 watt HF panel on my shed that barely ever reaches that much. This is an excellent price point for an excellent 100 watt foldable solar panel. I will be proud to use this on our camping trips to the lake.Size: Folded, 25 X 21 inches. Thickness folded, 2.5 inches due to the pouch on the back. Unfolded, about 50 X 21 inches.Durability: From the looks and feel of the product I would say it is durable. I have tested at home and it all is good. The real test is can it survive a camping trip. Well, we will see soon. You know how everything is thrown around the back of the SUV when loading up for camping or gets shifted around. I wish a carrying bag came with this and I hope to find one before this receives any damages. As is, the panel itself is protected when closed.Weight: About 10 lbs. This is definitely due to the high quality.Be sure to look at the "Technical Details" on the product page for more details. Even has a 12 month warranty with this product. That is another great deal for purchasing this product.I do recommend this Foldable 100 W Solar Panel,Dave E

Works and Pairs Well with Portable Power Stations.

This is a decent-sized solar panel that has provided maximum charge for the small portable power station I have and even works during a cloudy day. During some severely overcast days, it was only able to provide 16-20watts to the battery; but considering how cloudy it was, it was nice that it could even reach that. On a clear and sunny day, it reaches the power stations max charge limit at 60w easily and certainly higher.Pros:-Performance.

Worst the price and produces what it says

I have a predator from Harbor freight and a daiquiri it charges both of them with the attachments. Highly recommend was out of power for six hours the other day with the storms that come through on the 14th was able to keep my Internet up to stay in touch with family and friends and keep up with the weather while the power was out due to both the solar generators and I had enough sun on the 15th to charge them back up worth the price highly recommend direct sunlight if you mess with any solar panels, you don't get what they say. I was running at 98 W not bad for 100 W panel and when it got hot, I was still running low 90s. I will be buying a second one.

Worth the money!

The solar panel is exceeding my expectations. One day it was bringing in 98 watts. I'm using it to power my Jackery 1000v. Today it is kind of hazy and is reading 71 watts. I'm planning on using this when we are camping to run some lights and to keep phones charged. Can't wait for summer to try it out.

Absolutely amazing!

This is a wonderful solar panel. It feels very high quality, it puts out 90-93w (100w model) on a sunny mid-winter day in the midwest, and the flexibility of charging options is a great plus. You can plug in a device into the USB ports AND use the xt60 at the same time, the device just automatically diverts the applicable wattage to the USB ports first, and then gives the xt60 connection whats left, a great solution when using this to charge a phone and some kind of battery pack at the same time.Highly recommend this solar panel.
